OUR PROCESS
Precision manufacturing backed by decades of gear-making experience.
EVERY PROJECT STARTS HERE
Every component begins with a clear understanding of the customer’s requirements.
Our team reviews the available drawings, specifications, supplied blanks, existing components, and other project information to understand the part, application, and manufacturing needs.
From there, we determine the appropriate combination of machining, gear cutting, secondary operations, and inspection required to produce the finished component.

HOW WE WORK
Commercial Gear offers the flexibility to work with customer-supplied blanks or manage the manufacturing process from raw material through the completed component.
We review the component requirements, specifications, drawings, supplied blanks, and other available project information.
CNC turning, milling, boring, keyways, drilling, and related machining operations prepare the component for the required manufacturing process.
The appropriate gear-cutting or machining process is used to produce the required gear, spline, sprocket, or related component.
Critical dimensions and gear characteristics are checked using dedicated inspection equipment before the finished component is released for delivery.
INSPECTION BEFORE DELIVERY
Inspection is an important part of the Commercial Gear manufacturing process.
Specialized gear inspection and dimensional measuring equipment is used to evaluate critical dimensions and gear geometry before finished components are delivered.
The team also brings more than 120 years of combined industry experience to troubleshooting challenging gear tolerance and performance issues.
Inspection capabilities
Send us your drawing, specifications, supplied blank, or details about the component you need. Our team will review your requirements and help determine the appropriate manufacturing approach.
