Custom sprocket manufacturing
Commercial Gear & Sprocket manufactures custom sprockets for OEMs, machine builders, replacement applications, conveyor systems and industrial power-transmission equipment — with CNC machining, sprocket modification and dedicated inspection procedures.
Sprockets made to your specifications
Sprockets engage a chain to transmit rotary motion and power. Tooth geometry, pitch, bore configuration, alignment and chain engagement all decide how reliably a chain drive runs.
We manufacture custom sprockets to your drawings, dimensions, chain requirements, pitch, bore configuration, material and quantity. Send your own blanks or existing sprockets for machining, or have us make the sprocket from scratch — including re-machining of U.S. Tsubaki sprockets.
Sprocket sizes and pitch range
Maximum diameter
Up to 36″
Custom sprockets manufactured up to 36 inches in diameter.
Chain pitch
¼″ – 2″
Chain pitch from ¼ inch through 2 inches.
Modification services
Available
Re-machining and modification of U.S. Tsubaki sprockets.

Custom industrial sprockets
Machining
Custom to your requirements
Number of teeth, chain size, hub configuration, bore, keyway, material, tolerance, heat treatment, finishing and inspection are reviewed during quotation. Outside this range? Send your drawing and application details for review.
How we manufacture and modify sprockets
Custom sprocket manufacturing, CNC machining, modification, secondary operations and documented inspection — chosen around diameter, pitch, teeth, chain type, hub, bore, material and quantity.
Sprockets made to your drawing — diameter, pitch, teeth, bore, hub, keyways, mounting holes, material and finish — not limited to catalog sizes.
Turning, milling, boring, reboring, keyways, drilled and tapped holes and hub machining on the same job.
Standard or engineered Tsubaki sprockets rebored, keyed, drilled and finished to fit your shaft and equipment.
Deburring, heat treatment coordination, metal finishing, bore and hub modifications and inspection.
Custom, machined or modified
Custom manufacturing makes sense for OEM components, replacement sprockets, specialized machinery and any application where a stock sprocket does not have the dimensions or configuration you need. When a stock part is close, we modify it instead.
Up to 36″ · ¼″ – 2″ pitch

40+ years distributing & modifying
U.S. Tsubaki partner
We have distributed U.S. Tsubaki products for more than four decades and pair that range with in-house machining. Choose a standard or engineered Tsubaki sprocket and we will modify it to your shaft and equipment.
Tsubaki modifications we provide:
Bores opened up and machined to your shaft size.
Keyways cut to your shaft and key specification.
Set-screw and mounting holes drilled and tapped.
Finishing and application-specific modifications.
CNC sprocket machining
Tooth, bore, hub and mounting requirements coordinated in one project.
Hubs, faces and diameters turned to size.
Milled features and profiles to the drawing.
Bores machined or opened up to your shaft size.
Keyways cut to your specification.
Set-screw, mounting and tapped holes.
Hub configurations machined to your dimensions.
Finishing & secondary operations
Finishing and inspection handled as part of the same order.
Burrs removed from teeth and machined features.
Tooth hardening and heat treatment where required.
Finishes applied as your drawing requires.
Changes to bores and hubs on new or stock sprockets.
Bores, hubs and hole locations verified.
Pitch and tooth form checked against the chain.
Prototype to production
Single sprockets for new machine designs.
Worn sprockets reproduced for existing drives.
Stock and Tsubaki sprockets re-machined to fit.
Short runs through production-volume OEM orders.
Sprockets for industrial equipment
Custom sprockets run throughout industrial machinery and chain drives wherever power, motion or materials must move reliably. The right configuration depends on chain type, pitch, teeth, shaft size, load and operating environment.
Sprockets for conveyor and chain-drive systems.
Drive and idler sprockets for handling equipment.
Sprockets for packaging and food processing machinery.
Heavy-duty sprockets for agricultural machinery.
Industries we serve
Custom and stock sprockets for conveyor drives.
Heavy-duty sprockets for construction machinery.
Large sprockets for mining equipment.
Custom sprockets built to OEM drawings.
Sprockets for machine tool builders.
Custom sprockets for specialized machinery.
Sprocket quality and inspection
Accurate pitch, tooth geometry, runout and chain engagement decide how a sprocket runs. We follow documented inspection procedures written specifically for sprockets, with a quality plan built around your part, drawing and purchase order.
Tooth geometry and size checked over pins.
Circular pitch tested with a sample chain wrap.
Runout checked with a pin in the teeth.
Bore size and tolerance verified.
Hub dimensions checked to the drawing.
Keyway width, depth and position verified.
Mounting and tapped hole locations checked.
Other drawing dimensions per the quality plan.
How it works
01
Drawing, chain type or number, pitch, teeth, bore, hub and quantity — or your Tsubaki part number.
02
We decide whether you need a fully custom sprocket, extra machining or a modified stock sprocket.
03
Your sprocket is machined, finished and checked over pins and with a chain wrap before it ships.
Custom sprocket manufacturer since 1946
Custom sprocket manufacturing, CNC machining, modification, documented inspection and decades of power-transmission experience.
Third-generation and family-owned, serving industry since 1946.
Pitch, teeth, bore, hub, material and application requirements.
Boring, reboring, keyways, drilled and tapped holes and hub machining.
More than four decades distributing and modifying Tsubaki products.
Over-pin measurement, chain-wrap pitch testing and runout checks.
Custom sprocket quotes
Send us your drawing, sprocket specifications, chain information, quantity and application. We will tell you whether a fully custom sprocket, extra machining or a modified stock sprocket is the best fit. For a Tsubaki modification, include the part number and the machining changes.
